Course Description

The training primarily covers the following topics:

• Responsibilities and obligations of holders of electrical installations, employers and electrical operation functions in accordance with electrical safety requirements
• The importance of a strong safety culture in preventing electrical accidents in day-to-day work
• The organisational functions required for safe work on and around electrical installations
• How electrical safety planning is carried out and how Elrisk-P and Elrisk-U are used for risk management
• Basic concepts relating to distances, zones and safe communication during electrical work
• Application of the four working methods (AUS, AMS, AIN, AUN) based on risk and the task being carried out
• The difference between operational activities, maintenance activities and repair work, and when planned work is required
• The difference between electrical and non-electrical work and the safety requirements that apply
• Planning work within and outside the vicinity zone, including distances, protective measures and any required supervision
• How the form “Instructions for Work Outside the Vicinity Zone” is used as part of electrical safety planning

The course content is based on the Swedish standard SS-EN 50110-1 and has been updated in accordance with the 2026 electrical safety instructions.

Course Objectives

The purpose of the training is to ensure that everyone who completes the course understands how to work safely in environments where electrical hazard sources are present, how the work is organised, and how electrical accidents and operational disruptions can be prevented.

Target Group

The training is intended for skilled persons who need to refresh their knowledge in accordance with the electrical safety instructions, i.e. at least every three years.

Prerequisites

Participants should have the necessary knowledge of electricity to benefit from the course and should previously have completed training in the electrical safety instructions. See the course here.

Refresher training must be completed at least every three years in accordance with the electrical safety instructions.
